The Center for Transfer and Transition Programs provides resources and services to meet the unique needs of prospective, incoming and continuing transfer students. CTTP’s purpose is to ensure transfer students’ success by developing partnerships with regional community colleges, facilitating seamless transitions to Sonoma State University, fostering a sense of belonging in the SSU community and offering services throughout the entire transfer experience from pre-admissions through graduation.
Whether you are a prospective student from another college or university excited to transfer to SSU or a continuing transfer student already here, academic advising is critical to your academic and personal planning process. Note that advisors are similar to counselors at community colleges in that they are available to support your academic and career planning, as well as the overall transition into college.
- Drop-in advising (20 minutes each) is offered intermittently 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
- Appointments (40 minutes each) can be scheduled between 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, based upon advisor availability.
For more information about drop-in advising or to schedule an appointment, please visit us in Salazar 1070, email email@example.com or call (707) 664-2730.

Tau Sigma National Honor Society
The Tau Sigma National Honor Society is an academic honor society designed specifically to recognize and promote the academic excellence and involvement of transfer students. SSU’s Eta Kappa chapter of Tau Sigma was established in 2017 and continues to recognize the academic achievement of transfer students who earn a grade point average of 3.5 or greater in their first semester at SSU.
Our lifetime members can apply for Tau Sigma scholarships and are provided with the opportunity to connect with other academically minded transfer students or to step into leadership positions within the organization. Tau Sigma membership invitations are sent at the beginning of spring semester to students who transferred to SSU the previous fall or spring semester and earned a grade point average of 3.5 or greater in that first semester.
For more information about SSU’s Eta Kappa Chapter of Tau Sigma, contact CTTP at email@example.com or (707) 664-2730.
CTTP’s Transfer Mentors and Ambassadors help incoming transfer students navigate their first semester at SSU by providing peer-to-peer support and hosting ongoing events. They help with CTTP presentations at local community colleges and also offer guidance to prospective students who are deciding whether to attend SSU.
For more information about this leadership opportunity, contact CTTP directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or (707) 664-2730.
