Public Impaction Comments

Through multiple public hearings and meetings with stakeholders, Sonoma State University has solicited feedback on the proposed changes to our impaction criteria.

Feedback received at these public meetings is shared below:

  • It is exciting to hear that there will be an opportunity for a spring and fall admission cycle for transfer students
  • Meeting attendees requested clear information on admissions criteria for lower division transfers
  • Meeting attendees are pleased to hear about increased access, however these types of changes are most successful when tied to a pathway with a dedicated person for students to work with
  • Meeting attendee suggested working in collaboration with the Student Success Team at Santa Rosa Junior College
  • Roseland School District invites SSU to campus visits with their students. Students benefit from knowing whom they are reaching out to, someone who can connect them to a clear pathway or network
  • Meeting attendees inquired if this would change concurrent enrollment, the process will remain the same
  • There has been confusion around chemistry courses not meeting admissions criteria under. Clear information on these requirements help our community counterparts serve students when they are at the point of transfer
