Admissions decision

Application notification begins on September 30 and is provided on a rolling basis. In order to secure a space with the university, refer to your admission letter for your final deadline to submit your student enrollment reservation.
 
September 30-January 1

Accept your offer of Admission

You can accept your offer of admission by submitting the Student Enrollment Reservation (SER) form. Email the form to international@sonoma.edu

International students do not need to pay an enrollment deposit or an orientation fee.

Ongoing

Apply for a VISA

It is very important that you begin the Visa application process as soon as you are accepted.
 
Ongoing Make Travel Arrangements  You should plan to arrive at SSU several days before the mandatory orientation program for new international students. More information on getting to SSU can be found on our website.
December 2

Submit International Transfer Form

Students transferring from a U.S. institution should fill out and submit the International Student Transfer Form
September 15-December 5

Submit mandatory immunization records

All entering students must send copies of official immunization records to the SSU Office of Admissions and Records showing they have received the required 2 dose series of Measles, Mumps, & Rubella (MMR) vaccine to the SSU Office of Admissions and Records prior to enrolling at SSU. Those who will be under age 19 on January 22, 2019 must also send records showing they have received the required series of 3 doses of Hepatitis B vaccine. Compliance is a mandatory condition of enrollment and should be completed no later than December 9, 2018. Students unable to locate immunization records may send copies of blood test results confirming immunity to the diseases prevented by the required vaccines.

Students who do not comply with this pre-enrollment requirement on time will have a Hold on their ability to register for classes and are subject to other late compliance penalties. Compliance is a mandatory condition of enrollment and must be completed prior December 9, 2018. 

Note: The CSU system is revising immunization requirements to include additional vaccines as recommended by teh U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

Apply for Housing

International students can apply for campus housing once they have been accepted to the University. To apply for campus housing, go online to create an application. Application date establishes priority for housing assignment and space. Housing is in high demand and space fills quickly. A waitlist will be started once housing is full.

Refund Information: 50% refundable if requested in writing by December 15, 2018; non-refundable thereafter. Read more @ Housing

October 15- November 15

Accept campus housing offer

Campus housing offers are sent electronically on a space available basis. In order to accept your offer, you will also need to submit a $300 Housing Down Payment by the designated deadline. Housing Down Payment does not guarantee a specific assignment. Refund policy: 50% refundable if requested in writing by December 15, 2018; non-refundable thereafter. Read more at Housing
November 13-December 29

Register by appointment

Spring 2019 registration appointment dates & times will be available in November. Check your SSU email for specific dates and instructions. See Registration Announcements for more information.
January

Purchase health insurance

Health insurance must be purchased prior to your enrollment at SSU.  You can read more about this requirement on the Center for International Education website. Step-by-step instructions on how to register for health insurance can be found here. Please register online at studentinsurance.usi.com.
January 5

Submit payment for mandatory registration charges

You must pay your mandatory registration charges by January 5, 2019. Even if schedule changes are planned, you must complete the registration process by paying the mandatory charges or an automated disenrollment process will occur.

Note: The Seawolf Service Center will be closed from December 25 - January 1. Mailed payments received during the holiday closure will be considered "on time". The online payment system will be open throughout the holiday closure.

January 10

Submit final transcripts

Your offer of admission is contingent upon you meeting the specific admissions requirements outlined on your admission letter. It is mandatory that your official final transcripts and/or test scores are received in the Office of Admissions by January 10, 2019. Failure to submit your final documents by the deadline will void your offer of admission. In the event that final documents are not received by January 10 a hold will be placed on your account preventing further registration activity. Request that all your Official Transcripts be mailed to:

Scholarship material due
(For Academic Year 2018-2019)

Scholarships range from $500 to $5,000 per year. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or greater to apply for this program. Read more @ SSU Scholarships

Move-in Weekend

Residents living on-campus will move into the Residential Community. Read more at Housing.
January 22 - February 4 Late Registration Need to adjust your schedule? Spring 2019 open registration/add/drop dates & times will be posted on Registration. You can still register during the late registration/add/drop period. Be sure to pay any associated student charges/fees no later than February 4; registration is not complete without final registration payment. Make payment @ MySSU
