Dec 1 - Ongoing Admissions decision

Notification of admissions decisions begin on December 1 and continues on a rolling basis. In order to secure a space with the university, the Enrollment Reservation Deposit is due by the due date on your admission letter.

Complete your reservation with Sonoma State University

Complete your reservation by purchasing the ERD package appropriate to your class level when you log onto your MySSU Online Services account. After purchase, finalize your Admissions acceptance through MySSU. For instructions and screenshots on how to pay the Enrollment Reservation Deposit (ERD) online, follow these self-service steps

Refund Information: If you change your mind about attending Sonoma State University, you must notify the University in writing. The Enrollment Reservation Deposit is non-refundable, however the Campus Housing Down Payment is 50% refundable if requested in writing by June 15, 2020; non-refundable thereafter. Dec 1 - Ongoing Apply for campus housing by paying Housing downpayment

All students interested in living on campus must pay a down payment, which applies to your admit term semester housing charges.  Once we receive your down payment, you will be contacted (within 10 days) with instructions on completing a housing application. While we can't guarantee housing for Sophomore and Above students (current and newly admitted), the key is to submit the down payment and complete the housing application process early.  Assignment priority is based on the date the Housing Down Payment is made.  For more information about on-campus housing, please visit

Beginning Oct 1 - Ongoing (Priority deadline  March 2) Submit Financial Aid material

The application process is free. The first step in applying for financial aid is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Application (Dream App) using SSU's school code of 001156. If you are a US citizen or permanent resident, complete the FAFSA online at FAFSA. Otherwise, complete the Dream App at Dream App. Read more at Financial Aid

Nov 1 - Feb 3 Scholarship material due
(For Academic Year 2020-2021)

Scholarships range from $500 to $5000 per year. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or greater to apply for this program. Read more @ SSU Scholarship

March 1 - Ongoing     Accept campus housing offer

Graduate students are NOT guaranteed housing; therefore, apply for campus housing early. Housing is in high demand and space fills quickly. A waitlist will be started once housing is full. March 30 - July 15 Submit mandatory immunization records

All incoming new students are required to submit immunization documentation to the SSU Student Health Center through the My Health Portal tile on their My SSU Online Services Portal. This must be completed at least 6 weeks prior to the start of each student’s first semester of classes at Sonoma State University. Students who do not meet this deadline are subject to conditional enrollment and other late compliance penalties. Students are able to access their My Health Portal once they have paid their SSU Enrollment Reservation Deposit.

July 5     Pay your mandatory registration charges

If you begin the registration process from April 20-June 30 you must pay your mandatory registration charges by July 10, 2020. Even if schedule changes are planned, you must complete the registration process by paying the mandatory registration charges or an automatic disenrollment process will occur.

Financial Aid Students: If you have applied for financial aid and have received an offer from our Financial Aid Office by July 10, 2020, in an amount sufficient to cover your semester mandatory registration charges, the payment of your mandatory registration charges will be deferred until your first disbursement for Fall 2020. You will NOT be disenrolled. If you file your FAFSA after June 1, 2020, you must front your Fall mandatory registration charges or your classes will be dropped in July.

July 10 Submit final transcripts

Your offer of admission is contingent upon you meeting the specific admissions requirements outlined on your admission letter. It is mandatory that your spring college transcript is received in the Office of Admissions by July 10, 2020. Failure to submit your final college transcript will void your offer of admission. Request that all your Official Transcripts be mailed to:

Aug 15-16 Move-in Weekend

Residents living on-campus will move into the Residential Community. Read more @ Housing

July 27 - Aug 14 Open Registration

Need to adjust your schedule? Fall 2020 late registration/add/drop dates & times will be posted on the Academic Calendar 

Be sure to pay any associated student charges/fees no later than August 10 registration is not complete without final registration payment. Make payment @ MySSU

Aug 19 - Aug 31 Late Registration You can still register during the add/drop period. Be sure to pay any associated student charges/fees no later than August 31; registration is not complete without final registration payment. Make payment @ MySSU
