How to Submit Your Transcripts
Whether you’re applying for the first time or transferring to Sonoma State, submitting your transcripts correctly and on time is essential. Below is everything you need to know to stay on track.
Important Deadlines by Semester

What These Mean:
- Missing Documents: Required to begin the application process.
- Initial Documents: Used to confirm your conditional admission (courses in progress are acceptable).
- Final Documents: Must include final grades and graduation verification.
Types of Transcripts
Official Transcripts:
- Must be sealed, signed/stamped, and sent directly from your school.
- Accepted in hard copy (by mail) or through approved electronic providers.
Unofficial Transcripts:
- Includes PDF’s, screenshots, or self-reported courses uploaded to your application or sent in email attachments.
- Only used during the initial application review, not for admission verification.

Option 1: Mail Your Transcripts
Send official transcripts to:

Mailing Tips:
- Transcripts must be signed, stamped, and sealed by your school.
- Unsealed or open transcripts will not be accepted.
- Send recent copies (issued within the past two years).

Important:
Sonoma State does NOT accept official transcripts as email attachments or uploads to the application portal. They must come from a verified provider or institution.
Military Transcripts
- Military Transcripts: Submit via Joint Services Transcript or American Council on Education transcripts.
Submitting Test Scores
Submit your standardized test scores directly from the testing agency. Most scores remain valid for two years.

ACT | Official ACT scores are submitted electronically to Cal State Apply directly from ACT, Inc. using the campus specific ACT code 431. Scores sent to any campus within the CSU are available to all campuses you apply to. Visit ACT.org for more information. |
AP | Official AP scores are submitted electronically to Cal State Apply directly from the College Board using the CSU system-wide code 3594. Scores sent to this code are available to all campuses you applied to. Follow the instructions on help.liaisonedu.com to send official test scores to Cal State Apply. |
CLEP | Students must have official CLEP score reports sent by the College Board to SSU Admissions for evaluation. |
Duolingo | Students must have official Duolingo score reports sent by Duolingo to SSU Admissions for evaluation. |
GMAT | Official GMAT scores are submitted electronically to Cal State Apply directly from the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) using a campus specific GMAT code. Campuses can only see scores that are sent with their code. Follow the instructions on help.liaisonedu.com to send official test scores to Cal State Apply. |
GRE | Official GRE scores are submitted electronically to Cal State Apply directly from Educational Testing Services (ETS) using a campus specific GRE code. Campuses can only see scores that are sent with their code 4723. Follow the instructions on help.liaisonedu.com to send official test scores to Cal State Apply. |
IELTS | Students must have official IELTS score reports sent by IELTS to SSU Admissions for evaluation. |
IB | Students must have official IB score reports sent by the International Baccalaureate. |
PTE | Students must have official PTE score reports sent by PTE to SSU Admissions for evaluation. |
SAT | Official SAT scores are submitted electronically to Cal State Apply directly from the College Board using the campus specific SAT code 4723 or, the CSU system-wide code 3594. TOEFL | Official TOEFL scores are submitted electronically to Cal State Apply directly from Educational Testing Services (ETS) using the campus specific TOEFL code 4723.
