There are several impacted majors at both the first-time first-year and transfer level. Impacted majors are programs that have more students interested in applying than that program has space to accommodate. If you are interested in an impacted program, please carefully review the additional admissions requirements to confirm if you are eligible.

Changes to Impaction for 2025-2026
Sonoma State University will no longer be impacted for Sociology and Criminology and Criminal Justice Studies effective in Fall 2025. The changes are part of SSU’s continued mission to serve the students in our region and to meet the California State University goal of serving first-time first-year and transfer students in our local service area.
